Women’s feet are different

Think differently

Women’s feet have very unique proportions, especially around the following areas:

lower leg

around the instep

This results in two common problems.
We call them pain zones:

calf cramping

pressure point on top of the in-step

There are several areas which have less volume than men’s feet.
Women´s feet float in these areas:

toe box

arch area

heel pocket

shin

a woman ́s heel has up to 26% less volume compared to a man ́s heel

When it comes to performance the biggest problem for female Roller Derby skaters is the lack of arch support. It makes skating uncomfortable for the foot. On average a woman ́s heel has up to 26% less volume compared to a man ́s heel, so women lack a snug heel lock in unisex derby skates and poor heel lock compromises lateral stability.

Together with Sergio Mc Cargo, one of the leading manufacturers of custom boots we developed a specific woman’s last geometry. We call it the EVEFIT proven by women for women who play Derby.
